Things that he says...

See ya mommy (when he is leaving to go play with daddy)
Daddy funny
James funny
Wooo Mommy fast!
big boy bed
he says thank you with out having to be told "say thank you" when you give him something (especially his juice or milk)
My feelings hurt
if he hurts anything at all he says, Mommy ice on it.
combine---this is one of my favorite thing that he says, he pronounces it bumbine and it sounds so cute. He has a farm book and every time he points to it and says papa bumbine

Things that he does...
Can ride his tricycle
can hold on to the monkey bars and pull his feet up so that he is upside down and then flip over (i catch him but he does everything else all by himself)
can hold a ball, toss it up and hit it with the bat by himself
can open the fridge and get juice, milk or anything else that he wants out
can open his "childproof" doors
sleeps in a big boy bed
goes on the potty every once in awhile
plays his guitar and sings
If I give him a serious look he will look back at me and smile (he pulls his chin and gives me a look like ohh come on mom you aren't mad)
can count up to ten when I help him ( I say 2 then he says 3, i say 4 he says 5 etc all the way up to 10)
He knows his colors almost all of the time

James' Favorite things...

He loves swimming, popsicles, suckers, Hannah from across the street, sponge bob,
icarly (don't ask) lawnmowers, his guitar, bikes, still loves juice, high fives, building blocks really high, big trucks, cars and trains. He loves to clap to a sailor went to sea sea sea, loves playing with all of his cousins, loves to cuddle with mommy still (yay!!)

Mommy's Favorite things...

When I hear his little footsteps and diaper swishing in the early morning and he comes to my side of the bed and says...mommy...I pull him up and cuddle him really close and then he will just look at me and cheese before he falls back to sleep.

When we are cuddling and I give him a kiss he will look up and kiss me back.

When he is going outside to play with daddy he runs and gives me a big hug and kiss before he leaves and as soon as comes back inside he runs and gives me another big hug and kiss before he does anything else.

He has to give everybody hugs and kisses before he leaves somewhere or when he gets somewhere.

James' 2 year old birthday...

Today James turned two years old (sniff, sniff) I can't believe that my baby is two! He had a great birthday today. First, he woke up and went outside to find a new tricycle waiting for him in the driveway and a brand new big boy guitar! He then got to go to Burdette Park with mommy and daddy. He had so much fun going down slides and swimming in the baby pool. He was so worn out from all the playing that he fell asleep in the car and then slept for another 3 hours when we got home. He just started sleeping in his big boy bed and hasn't been taking very long naps so this was huge! When he woke up we had his favorite meal and are going to have his favorite ice cream tonight for desert.

Funny thing that happened today on his birthday:

When he woke up and I told him it was his birthday he started blowing really hard (he thought that he was going to get to blow out candles right away!)

He kisses the phone and hugs it every time someone called to wish him a happy birthday.

He played his guitar just like johnny cash did and made a really serious rocker face.

Happy Birthday James, We love you!!!! xoxoxo

How I feel:

I just love this stage!  I say this about every stage but I really don't want him to get any bigger than this.  I love how he can communicate more and how he understands and listens so well now.  I am excited for the new things to come by I am trying to soak up every moment of him like this because he is looking more and more like a little boy instead of my toddler/baby everyday.

James' first major bump...

On Saturday James got his first bad injury. Well, it looked worse than it was, but it was still so sad : ( Justin was pulling him in his wagon and he turned around for two seconds. Of course, James decided that he was going to get out in those two seconds. He fell and hit his head on the driveway. I was inside editing some jobs when Justin brought him in and I about passed out. This picture was taken a few hours later so it had actually gone down to almost half the size. He is doing fine now and the bump is completely gone and there is just a slight bruise left. Thank goodness!!!

James' Favorite Song...

I have a CD with a bunch of kids music and James' favorite song is "Six Little Duckies" He waddles around the kitchen with both hands behind his back for his feathers. It is so cute. As soon as he hears the song he gets up and starts dancing around.

19 months old and new words...

James' vocabulary is growing everyday, some of the new things that he says quite often are...

uh-oh
up
hat
hi
bye-bye
down
out
poop--he says this whether he has to pee or poop or if he has just gone
bath
Reece
jump
book
duck

Fun day outside...

The weather was so AWESOME today!! I took James outside first thing this morning to play. He has been sick the last couple of days so we couldn't go outside and enjoy the warmness, so today we took full advantage of it. We played outside at home for awhile and then we decided that it would be even more fun to play on a playground. We went inside, grabbed some juice, and headed to the 4H center. When James saw the playground I wish I would have had my video camera with me. He started screeching with delight and his whole body was shaking he was so excited. He kept pointing and cheesing and laughing bigger than I have ever seen him!! It was great. As soon as his feet hit the ground, he ran straight for the biggest slide that they have. I had to steer him over to the other slides and then after a slight fit he was content running up the steps and sliding down the smaller slide and then doing it again over and over. He did everything there was to do on the playground at least a dozen times each and then he decided to settle down and swing. He swung and swung for almost a whole hour! He kept just smiling and laughing and every once in awhile he would hold his hand up and give me a high five while swinging : ) It was such a great day. James even held my hand while he was looking for sticks to collect. Usually he wants to be on his own with me trailing close behind.

I am excited for the warm weather to stay and to have more fun playground days : D

James is 19 months old today

James turned 19 months old today and had his 18 month old appointment (somehow we got a month behind). He is %30 in his weight at 24.5lbs. and %40 in his height at 32 inches. He is my little skinny-minny baby! : )

He did such a good job with his shots this time. When the nurse started getting her gloves on he knew what was going to happen, but he didn't hardly even cry, he just whimpered a little and squeezed my thumb. It was still sad, but at least he doesn't have to get any until he turns 4!!! (which will never happen, by the way, because he is going to stay my little 18 month old baby forever :)

Library Hour

James and I met Natalie and Christian at Library hour for the boys' first time!! They were so cute the whole time and did so well ; ) One of my favorite moments was when Christian ran to the middle of the circle and Natalie tried to tell him to come back, James just got up and ran over to Christian and pulled him by the arm back to Natalie and then sat back down on my lap!! James looked up at Natalie and me like "it's cool I got it guys!" and Christian was looking at James like "dude you are such a suck up!!" It was too funny! : )

James and the potty!

James went poop on the potty for the first time yesterday! He grabbed his butt and said poo. I asked him if he needed to use the potty and he ran to the bathroom and tried to take his pants off to sit on the toilet. I sat him up there and he started grunting away!!! He was so excited when he got to flush the toilet!!!
I am by no means going to try to force potty training on him just yet, but hopefully he will continue to tell me that he has to poop! One less dirty diaper is always a good thing : )

He loves to dance which includes playing the air guitar, raising the roof, head banging, do the twist and jumping.

He loves to build with blocks and knock down everyone else's.

He loves anything to do with balls, footballs, soccer balls, baseballs, basketballs you name it he loves it.  He kicks them, throws them and tries to catch them but we aren't quite there yet.

He loves to give hugs and kisses especially to kids and babies.

He loves to read books and sing, his favorite part about reading is pointing to where everything is in a book.

He loves to go outside.

He loves Juice, but he calls it jewwww!

He loves his Grandmas

He loves to imitate anything and everything!  Whether it is brushing teeth, lifting weights, cooking etc. He will imitate it!

He loves bath time

Things that he says:

He says jewww for juice, when he wants it he holds his hand in the air, scrunches his face and says jewwwww!

Mama and Dada
shoes
hat
bye-bye
grandpa---he says papa
grandma--nama
nauni--nana
brrr--for cold (he hugs himself and shivers while he says it)
hot--he says hottttt
no and no-no these are probably his favorite things to say especially when he disagrees with something
John--he has to nod his head when he says it
Christian--it comes out as tistian
Please & Thank-you--  these two are the most recent things that he has been saying.  He says tuuu for please and ti-tu for thank you.  He will also hold his hand up and shrug his shoulders while he is saying it.

Other things that he does now...

He makes the kissing sound when he gives kisses
he says hello to everyone and everything that he sees, his waves very franticly from side to side to make sure that he is being seen
he has been having to go to time out when he gets in trouble lately and he knows when he has done something I don't like because he won't look at me.  He turns his head to the side or closes his eyes!
he backs up to sit on your lap when he wants you to read him a book
he smiles for the camera and says cheese!
he takes pictures of himself with a play camera

My Favorite things...

When he cuddles with me/lays down he wraps both arms around my face and head and presses his squishy cheeks as close to mine as he can.  If I try to move he just pulls on me tighter until he falls sound asleep.

If I have work to do Justin will lay with him on the couch at bedtime instead of me.  When I am finished with my work I will come out and as soon as James sees me he tries to push Justin off the couch with both hands so that I can lay down and hold him instead.

When I am trying to get something done around the house he does whatever it is that I am doing and acts as my little helper.

If Justin gives him a bath I love it when he James is all wrapped up in the towel and I say "oh my gosh it is my naked baby!!!  I love my naked baby!!!"  James gets the biggest smile on his face!!

Funny things that he does...

While I get ready he likes to take my underwear out of the drawers and put it around his neck!
He pretends to clean my ears out.
When he gets up from a nap he has to take every blanket that is in the crib (and I am talking like 7 blankets so i can barely fit them and him in my arms) with him or gets really upset.
He waves bye-bye to the toilet paper when it gets flushed
closes his eyes when you say to smile

A blog about James...

I am starting this because I am world's worst about keeping track of all of James' firsts, his funny moments and everything else in between.

I just wish he weren't already 18 months old!!!
